Offshore Production Facilities in Shallow and Deep Water Environment |
The Center for Advancement of Post-Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University (CAPSCU) has organized a general lecture on Thursday, the 1st of January 2004 presented by Dr. Ahmed Ewida at the lecture hall of the social club at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. The presentation was titled "Offshore Production Facilities in Shallow and Deep Water Environment". Dr. Ahmed Ewida holds a Ph.D. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada, a M.Sc. degree in Ocean Engineering and a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt. Dr. Ewida has been employed with Petro-Canada for the last twenty-four years. He has held senior engineering and project management positions in major offshore projects and operations, including Hibernia and Terra Nova developments. Dr. Ewida has also held senior positions within Petro-Canada’s corporate development, strategic planning and financial areas, covering the upstream and downstream sectors of the company. Dr. Ewida currently is the Manager of the Engineering and Technology department at Petro-Canada East Coast Business Unit, in St. John’s Newfoundland. Dr. Ewida serves in key industrial and R&D committees in Canada and worldwide including the chairing of the Harmonized Canadian Advisory Committee, which is responsible for the harmonization of the Canadian Offshore Structures Standards with ISO Standards. The presentation was attended by about 50 faculty staff members and distinguished leaders from the petroleum sector in Egypt. A fruitful discussion followed the presentation and all were happy to have Dr. Ewida with them. |
