CAPSCU Main Objectives

  Conducting applied research programs in cooperation with national industry in order to assist in its technological development. This has been achieved through joint research with industry toward providing solutions to specific technical problems and supervision of implementation, project assessment, etc.

	Offering continuous education and training packages to engineers and technicians in up-to-date technological and management fields as well as conducting on-the-job training programs in areas involving new technologies.
	Performing material and product testing in accordance with international standards and quality control regulations and issuing certified test results.
	Supporting post-graduate studies and research activities taking place in the Faculty of Engineering (FECU), especially those related to industrial applications. CAPSCU provides facilities and equipment to laboratories as well as encouraging faculty staff and postgraduate students to publish the results of their research in reputable publications.

	European Copper Institute (ECI), Belgium, is co-ordinating a pan-European power quality campaign, to promote good practice installation for power quality and EMC and to provide adult education to professionals working in this area. ECI is leading a European power quality initiative (LPQI), consisting of more than 80 partners, which has been set up by 2 contracts under the LEONARDO programme of the European Commission.  Faculty of Engineering, the 86th partner, will participate to LPQI in Egypt, the 32nd country where LPQI is active, with following activities through CAPSCU:  -  Organising dissemination on power quality problems, causes and solutions through seminars, and short courses. -         Setting up e-learning programmes leading to certification, using the LEONARDO training kit. The topics covered, but not limited to, are: 1-     Harmonics, 2-     Reliability, 3-     Voltage Disturbances, 4-     EMC & Earthing, 5-     Rational Use of Energy, 6-     Distributed Generation & Renewables.  رسالة المركز

تعد كلية الهندسة - جامعة القاهرة رائدة فى مجال التعليم والاستشارات الهندسية والفنية والتدريب المستمر بهدف خدمة المجتمع، ولقد بدأت فكرة إنشاء مركز تطوير الدراسات العليا والبحوث فى العلوم الهندسية عام 1974بتمويل مشترك بين الحكومة المصرية وهيئة الأمم المتحدة ممثلة في صندوق التنمية وهيئة اليونسكو.

تتمثل رسالة المركز في تفعيل الامكانيات المتاحة بالجامعة لمساعدة مؤسسات المجتمع فى التغلب على التحديات التى تواجهها من خلال علاقات تبادل المنفعة Win-Win Relation، وتوجيه الدراسات العليا والبحوث بالكلية لحل مشكلات المجتمع، وكذلك يقوم المركز بتمويل شراء أجهزة معملية وحاسبات وحزم برمجيات متطورة لتطوير معامل الكلية والمساهمة في دعم بنيتها الأساسية.
